As a Kansas City Wedding photographer and a recently engaged girly myself, I’ve spent the past few years thinking about Kansas City Wedding Venues! We have so many gorgeous venues in and around the Kansas City Metro, I know that because I’ve had the pleasure of shooting weddings at many of them! That being said, if I’m being honest, I’ve had a hard time finding one for myself…
Weeding through all of the information needed to make the best choice when it comes to wedding venues: Location, Price, Capacity, and just overall Vibe has been a lot, which is why I’ve gone ahead and done it all for you! I will note that the pricing I have pulled is going to be either the starting prices listed and or peak season pricing! Many of these venues will have multiple different options when it comes to packages but assume “starting” rates are the lowest to book the date.
Here below, I’ve added some of my current favorite Kansas City Wedding Venues and necessary information and bullet points to help you make an informed choice! To sweeten the deal, I will also give you my thoughts as a Wedding Photographer in the space and add some photos! As I continue to work with these incredible Kansas City Wedding Venues and teams, I will also keep the pricing and photos as up to date as possible!
I hope this helps you find your dream Kansas City Wedding venue, and if you’re still looking for a photographer…

Abbott Events owns three venues in the Downtown Kansas City Area! The other two are The Harlow and The Bardot! They are some of my favorite Kansas City Wedding Venues! I’ve gotten to shoot at the Harlow once years back and would recommend it as well! It has more of a true industrial loft feel! The Bardot is great if you’re looking for a clean, modern feel!
The Abbott is stunning! This venue has room for the largest weddings and has a very luxurious industrial feel! The venue is very neutral and pretty simple with lots of white-washed brick and gorgeous chandeliers! One of my favorite parts of the venue is the upstairs outdoor patio that overlooks the city and gets a perfect sunset!
All the photos below are from a recent day at the Abbott!

The Station
The Kansas City Room
This location has two potential spaces for your to host your day! The Kansas City Room and The Station are both within the same building but offer different vibes! ! I’ve not had the opportunity to visit the Kansas City Room yet, but all the weddings I’ve gotten to be a part of at The Station have been incredible! The Station has gorgeous natural light throughout the room and very classy modern features! The space has an overnight suite as well as rooms for your wedding party to get ready in! There is also a wonderful outdoor patio and the space offers a party bus for transportation!

I’ve not yet had the opportunity to shoot a wedding at Hotel Kansas City, but I would love for your day to be the first! Hotel Kansas City has beautiful character from the minute you enter the lobby! The hotel offers multiple different options when it comes to wedding days! They have 5 event spaces all equally stunning! If youre looking for city views and a modern feel you will want to look in to the Starlight Ballroom! If you love old money vibes and looks of character the Tudor Ballroom or The President’s Ballroom would be for you!
One of the best parts of hosting your day with Hotel Kansas City is you and your guests will be just a short walk to your gorgeous room at the end of the night! Or if you want to keep the party going head to Nighthawk the speakeasy located inside the Hotel!
A fall wedding day at Loose Mansion is such a mood! Loose Mansion offers so much stunning character and is perfect for fall and winter wedding days! They have two large getting-ready spaces, and the grand staircase’s photo opportunities are endless! When the weather is nice they also have great outdoor spaces as well! There’s a perfect patio spot on the back side of the mansion, a large covered driveway, and a side yard that gets the perfect sunset!

The Simpson house is another large home in KC with tons of character, perfect for a whimsical garden party wedding or moody fall wedding day!
Avent Orangery is such a unique find! Think very European style! The venue is a large greenhouse and sits right next to Chateau Avalon in KCK! What’s really nice about booking this venue is that your guest can also stay on the property the evening of your wedding!
I love the ceremony location! It nestles right in front of a wooded area with amphitheater-style seating so that all your guests will have a great view! The fountain out front makes for some beautiful photos as well!
Another location I haven’t gotten to visit yet but am obsessed with! La Villa is stunning! It has Spanish-style architecture and is very clean and modern! They have a getting-ready space and a nice outdoor patio as well!
White Iron Ridge is beautiful and a popular choice for Kansas CIty wedding Venues! It’s a large modern barn, but very elegant and clean! The Haven is another space perfect for large wedding days! I personally LOVE their getting-ready suites here! They are both large and the room intended for the ladies has great lighting, a huge room for getting changed, and a cute little outdoor patio!

They have a main barn for your receptions, tons of outdoor locations for your ceremony, two separate houses to get ready in, and a clubhouse on the pod where you can host your rehearsal dinner! They also have endless lodging options for your guests! I really love all the location options they have for your portraits and their moody rustic vibe!
What’s not to love about the Brim? I haven’t had the opportunity to shoot here yet, but I have gotten to visit and meet the owners, who are the sweetest! We can’t talk about the best Kansas City Wedding Venues without taking about them! I would encourage you to read their story when checking out what they offer! It is true; they host free ceremonies during the week! However, if you are looking for weekend options, they still have incredibly affordable packages for you! At the Brim, you have the Chapple and the Reception Space! Both of which are very clean and modern! There is tons of gorgeous space on the property for sunset portraits, too!
Whiskey Ridge is a new venue in the area, and I am dying to shoot here! Their estate has over 60 acres of land with a stunning farmhouse for you to get ready in or stay in, an outdoor ceremony spot, as well as their barn for your reception! I love the modern rustic feel of their barn and how light and bright it is inside!

Athena and Grant had a beautiful October Wedding day at 28 Event Space, a Wedding Venue in Downtown Kansas City! Their day was full of so many beautiful, joyful moments and wonderful vendors! The entire team who made this day happen will be listed at the bottom if you’re looking for some incredible Kansas City wedding florists, planners, or venues!
The day began a a sweet Airbnb in Pendleton Heights, a neighborhood just a few minutes away from downtown where Athena and her girls got ready!
After some fun photos of Athena in her wedding day jammies we headed out to 28 Event Space to grab some detail photos and finish getting ready!
Athena and Grant wanted to take time to include their favorite people in some special moments with first looks! Alisha with ThirtyOne: Thirty Event Planning was an essential part in helping keep everyone in their places and organized for the first looks!
Reading their personal vow with just their closest friends and family was a really touching and emotional moment for the couple. This is a WONDERFUL idea for couples who want to share this moment with just a handful of people! Especially if you may be feeling uncomftanle sharing with your entire guest list!
We headed to Liberty Memorial nearby for some fun wedding party portraits! The couple spent a few moments alone as well for their own portraits!
When we returned we took some time for more portraits of the two!
For their ceremony Athena had her younger brother officiate and marry them! This is a great personal touch for couples looking to add sweet personal aspect to their day! It’s relatively simple for a close friend or family member to get ordained online!
The 28 Event Space Staff made quick work of flipping the space for their reception following the ceremony! There was a really nice outdoor patio for guests to hang out while they had drinks and snack during cocktail hour!
Athena and Grant started their party with playing Flip Cup following their entrance! (The ladies did win)
The speakers had the crowd going from laughing to crying within just a few moments!
Athena’s brother who officiated the wedding, also sang for her and her fathers dance which was really sweet.
Twice on Sunday, and Incredible local band was the entertainment for the evening! The crowd loved them as you can tell by all the photos from the reception!
Little did Grant know, Athena had arranged something really special for him. Context for this is that he is that they are huge Kansas City Chief fans!
Grant and Athena shared a slow dance alone just outside the venue towards the end of the night.
Their wedding party did join the shortly after, bringing the party outside! The couple did a sweet little faux send off with their friends!
The vendor who helped make this day possible:

Madi and Tristan loved spending their summer in Washington, with the mild but gorgeous weather an the endless adventure opportunities from living out of their camper they spent as much of the summer they could exploring. For the second summer in a row I got the chance to meet up with them! We stayed at a gorgeous airbnb right outside of Mt. Baker National Forest and took in the sounds of the river beside the cabin and the peace and quite of the forest.
Madi and Tristan have such a fun and genuine energy about them, though we planned on taking photos it turned into one big hang out session with some fun drinks and a little hot tub time. It was such a fun evening playing cards and soaking up the fresh air on the back porch. The next morning we al hung out, made some coffee and cooked breakfast together before heading out on our next adventure.
Lexi knew from the moment she was engaged that she wanted to do a classy elegant Halloween wedding, and she nailed it! The day started with her and her friends and family getting ready at a salon downtown, from there we drove over to their ceremony venue, The Everly, to prepare for the ceremony. Lexi and Sully choose to do a first look and it was one of the sweetest I’ve seen, both with tears in their eyes.
Lexi also had some special moments with those closest to her as she opted for a first look with her dad as well as some friends! Everyone turned and looked at Lexi starry eyes as they took her in! She choose a dress from Laude Bride which she found at a local bridal store, Bride KC! Everyone loved the dress and commented on how it was a perfect for her and really fit her bubbly fun personality!
When it came time for her ceremony Sully was joined at the end of the isle by a lifelong friend who officiated the wedding. As he spoke on the love Lexi and Sully had for each other everyones eyes filled with tears, myself included. Those tears finally fell when the two read their handwritten vows.
After the ceremony the couple and their party took a trolley around the town and we took photos of the group and the couple as we made our way to their reception venue, The Harlow. On the way we stoped b one of the couples favorite local coffee shops as well for a few quick shots!
The couple had an amazing evening with a crowd of friends and family who partied hard! Sully, being a musician himself even serenaded Lexi midway though! After the formalities of the reception Lexi and Sully encouraged the guests to put on their halloween costumes and spend the rest of the evening dancing, which they all defiantly did!
From the first time I spoke with Kalli, I knew her and Nick’s day would be so sweet and sentimental. She had such light and joy about her. I officially met Nick the morning of their elopement and through little giggles, touches, and quiet moments I could see how devoted they were to each other. They both, especially Kalli, spent the whole morning laughing and snuggling while we listened to their favorite music. They had such great taste in music (Fleetwood Mac, Taylor Swift) and TV shows (New Girl) and it made me feel like if we lived closer we would definitely be good friends.
Kalli and Nick spent their morning together in cozy clothes and I had the opportunity to capture some moments as they let the time pass, before making their way to separate areas of the Airbnb to get ready. After they both were finished they had a sweet first look moment in the garden at the back of the property. We then packed up and headed out to explore the park before their ceremony.
The day was full of little hikes and adventures. We took our time exploring the little trails covering the top of Glacier Point, where their ceremony was set to be, taking photos and chatting. Their ceremony was so beautiful as they read their handwritten vows out of their personalized vow book. Their officiant Jess led them through the ceremony and did SUCH an amazing job.
Afterward, we headed to the Taft Point Trailhead where we took the trail down to the jaw-dropping cliffs. We took plenty of little detours on the way down for photos and just to explore! As the sun fell out of the sky we watch and soaked up the last little moments of their sweet special day.
